Dannii Minogue

In 1979 a young girl auditioned for “Young Talent Time” with a rendition of Shirley Temple’s “Good Ship Lollipop” and won the hearts of a nation. That little girl was Danielle Minogue and she had just taken her first step towards becoming an international superstar and musical legend. Within only a couple of years, Danielle ruled the “Young Talent Time” stage with her angelic voice and magnetic charisma. The blazing talent that would one day revolutionise popular music was clear for all to see. Almost thirty years later, Dannii remains the brightest star in the weird and wonderful galaxy of pop.

YTT Queen

Danielle was a household name in Australia by the late 1980s. She had blossomed into a stunning beauty and was still driving audiences wild with rousing covers of current pop hits. It was around this time that Kylie shot to fame and brutally stole her sister’s spotlight. Instead of wilting in her sister’s shadow, Danielle responded by becoming even more fabulous. She shortened her name to Dannii, left “Young Talent Time” in 1988 and almost immediately joined the cast of “Home & Away” as the rebellious Goth, Emma. Dannii’s brilliant acting skills left fans stunned and amazed and she was nominated for a Silver Logie for “Most Popular Actress On Australian Television”, losing to her big sister. As usual.

Ghetto Dannii

After taking the acting world by storm, Dannii set her sights on a recording career. 1990 saw the release of Dannii’s stunning self-titled debut album and music world would never be the same again. The first single, “Love & Kisses”, was an instant smash hit with fans, eventually peaking at #4. Always an innovator, Dannii decided on an American sound for her debut album and incorporated elements from R’n’B and rap music. Highlights from the album include “Party Jam” and her signature tune, “Success”. The album was remixed for the UK and several new tracks were added, including fan favourites “Jump To The Beat” and “Baby Love”. Dannii had announced herself as a chart force to be reckoned with on both sides of the globe.

Movie Star

The amazing worldwide success of her debut album left Dannii hungry for new challenges. One of these would be her phenomenal feature film debut playing a 13 year old Beatles fan in the massively underrated “Secrets”. Dannii shows the full extent of her acting range in the powerful scene where she desperately searches for somewhere to piss. The novelty of the cinema eventually wore off and Dannii continued with her mission to turn the music world upside down. “Get Into You” was released in 1993 and showcased Dannii’s staggering evolution as an artist. The variety of musical genres and influences on display is impressive, ranging from the fierce urban groove of the title track to the divine slice of bubblegum pop that is “This Is It”. The latter became one of Dannii’s biggest Australian hits and boasts quite possibly the most fabulous film clip ever recorded. Dannii’s stunning dance routine is copied in gay clubs around the world to this very day!

Huge In Japan

Despite its brilliance, “Get Into You” failed to sell and Dannii was thrown into the abyss of UK morning television. Dannii’s wit and formidable intelligence made her an instant hit with viewers and the programs helped raise her profile. 1995 saw a brief detour from her television career when Dannii recorded two fabulous dance anthems with Eurogroove. Both songs topped the charts in Japan , proving that Dannii was still very much a hot commodity. It was also around this time when Dannii first flopped out her perky tits for Playboy, instantly becoming a role model for women around the globe. Dannii then spent the next couple of years appearing on various English television shows and toured with a stage production of “Grease”. It was becoming increasingly obvious that Dannii’s multitude of talents were being wasted and she finally decided to re-dedicate herself to her true calling:  becoming the most fabulous pop trash diva ever to walk the earth.

Girl

“Girl” is one of the defining albums of the 1990s. In fact, Dannii’s third release lifted pop music to heights previously considered impossible. The dance sound suited Dannii perfectly and her breathtaking new image drew gasps of stunned amazement. “Girl” also brought the Xenomania production team to masses and it remains one of their finest works. Unfortunately, the album suffered from some terrible single choices and ultimately underperformed. In an all too familiar development, Dannii was once again kicked to the curb of the UK entertainment industry. During this time, Dannii returned home to promote her Australian greatest hits compilation and consolidated her status as a gay icon by releasing her Mardi Gras anthem “Everlasting Night”. “Everlasting Night” is also memorable for first revealing Dannii’s lesbian tendencies.

Global Megastar

As the new millennium approached, our holy diva returned to the UK and appeared in a stage production of Macbeth. She continued to tread the boards by joining the cast of “Notre Dame De Paris” and stunned audiences with her thrilling performance. Dannii spent the next few years getting her clothes off at possible opportunity but work was beginning to dry up. Just when it seemed that Dannii was finally down for the count, she launched a brilliant comeback with “Who Do You Love Now”. The song was a smash hit across Europe and swiftly climbed the charts in Australia . Dannii had finally found her calling as the queen of clubs and would continue to mine this genre on her masterpiece, “Neon Nights”. Few albums can be described as perfect but “Neon Nights” is faultless from beginning to end. Dannii experiments with a rich palette of sounds to create a joyous listening experience that never fails to drag you to the dance floor. One of the tracks, “Vibe One”, swiftly became an anthem for prostitutes and strippers around the globe. Dannii was finally the international superstar that she had always dreamed of becoming.

Holidannii

Since the release of “Neon Nights” Dannii has taken a somewhat more relaxed approach to her career, spending a lot of time relaxing on Spanish beaches. Dannii’s love of holidays has earned her the endearing nickname “Holidannii”. Dannii signed with AATW records between trips and even managed to release another greatest hits package, “The Hits & Beyond”. The album has produced three top 20 hits in the UK and Australia , cementing her status as a musical legend in both countries. Unfortunately, the project has been marred by several scrapped singles and minimal promotion (excluding Lezzigate). Dannii delighted fans by returning to Australia for a national tour, which consisted of one show in a gay nightclub but the album was still a relative failure.

She's The Greatest Dancer

2007 has seen the emergence of a revitalised Dannii Minogue as a judge on “ Australia ’s Got Talent”. The show was an instant ratings success and Holidannii’s Australian record company decided to release a cover version of “He’s The Greatest Dancer” in response to her sudden burst of popularity. The song made the top 40 and Dannii blew audiences away with a riveting performance on “Dancing With The Stars”. Holidannii’s popularity on “ Australia ’s Got Talent” did not go unnoticed by television executives in the UK . Dannii has recently been signed on to judge the “X Factor” in England and is negotiations for a second series of “ Australia ’s Got Talent”. Who better to judge god given talent and professionalism than Dannii Minogue?

Iconic

Holidannii has delighted pop trash fans for decades and is arguably the reincarnation of Christ. The woman incorporates everything we love in a diva – fabulousness, charisma, and the ability to keep going when the chips are down. In short, Dannii is better than a hot cock up your fuckhole.
