Vitamin C was born Colleen Fitzpatrick was born in New Jersey in 1970. She made her debut in the 1988 movie Hairspray. In the 90's she emerged as the front woman of rock group, Eve's Plum. The group recorded two albums Envy (1993) and Cherry Alive (1995).

In 1999 she reinvented herself as a dance/pop singer and signed a deal with Elektra Records. She changed her name to Vitamin C and she set about recording her debut album Vitamin C, released in 1999. The album was certified platinum in the US and gave her three major hits Smile, Graduation and Me Myself and I. Her youthful appearance and teen friendly pop music made her a firm favourite on children's TV and radio without being too sickly and putting off older fans.

Her debut album proved pretty  tough to follow up and despite critical acclaim her sophomore album More, released in 2001 bombed debuting way bellow the Billboard Top 100. The album included the singles electro inspired The Itch and the tender ballad  As Long As Your Loving Me (Remix). Its a vast improvement on her debut still sounding pretty fresh over 6 years since its release. If anything the album tracks are better than the singles and show off a more mature sound, especially on the punchy Sex Has Come Between Us and her superior remake of The Waitresses' hit I Know What Boys Like. Soon after Colleen took a role in Wes Craven's Dracula 2001 and Get Over It, as well as a small cameo in Scary Movie 2.

Colleen took part in Celebrity Boot Camp in 2002 alongside fellow pop star and 80's icon Tiffany. She was last seen in summer 2003 with a new single Last Nite a cover of The Strokes hit,  which also sampled Blondie's Heart Of Glass. It slumped at number 70 in the UK.. She recently contributed songs to movie soundtracks including The Lizzie McGuire Movie and Sky High as well as presenting the reality series The WB's Superstar USA. She is currently poised to release a new CD.
